Who We Are

Celebrating Musical Excellence Since 1974

The Johannesburg Festival for the Advancement of Music was established in 1974 by the Johannesburg branch of the South African Society of Music Teachers. Our annual festival provides a platform for students of all levels to showcase their talent and receive valuable feedback from specialist adjudicators.

We cater for all orchestral instruments, piano, recorders, vocals, choirs, and more. Our festival runs for approximately two weeks, with performances held in the afternoons, evenings, and on weekends at the WITS Education Campus in Parktown.
