About Us
Over 50 Years of Musical Excellence
The Johannesburg Festival for the Advancement of Music has been a cornerstone of music education in South Africa since 1974.
Our Mission
The Johannesburg Festival for the Advancement of Music was established in 1974 by the Johannesburg branch of the South African Society of Music Teachers (SASMT). Our mission is to provide a supportive platform where music students of all levels can showcase their talent and receive valuable feedback from specialist adjudicators.
We believe that every student deserves the opportunity to perform, learn, and grow as a musician. Our festival provides that opportunity through expert adjudication, constructive feedback, and a celebration of musical achievement.
